David Kelly, Law Society of South Australia Young Lawyer of the Year 2022, practises extensively in litigation and dispute resolution, accepting briefs in a wide range of areas.  David has particular interest in complex criminal appeals and was junior counsel in the appeals against conviction in Perre v The King.   

Before joining the Bar, David was an Associate to the Honourable Justice Peek of the Supreme Court of South Australia and practised as a solicitor at Leventis Lawyers, Iles Selley, and Camatta Lempens, in Adelaide.   

In addition, David is a member of the Civil Litigation Committee of the Law Society, casual legal academic at Flinders University Law School, and headnote writer for the SASR (formerly also the FCR, FLR and IR.  David has also published articles concerning the Legislation Interpretation Act 2021 (SA), Building Work Contractors Act 1995 (SA), Supreme Court Act 1935 (SA), and Airbnb.   

David graduated from Flinders University as Dux of Law, with the University Medal, and First Class Honours in Laws and Legal Practice and Psychology, winning seven subject prizes.
